8 Better TV Series That Were Secretly Hidden In Shows
3. Robert's Rebellion - Game Of Thrones
Already hitting the ground running with its first prequel series to be officially unleashed on HBO post-Game of Thrones, after admittedly stuttering a touch with a failed Blood Moon pilot, House of the Dragon proves that there is most definitely life in the concept of Westeros pre-Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen.
However, away from the already unfolding Fire & Blood adaptation, another prequel idea that was actually half-played out within the original Game of Thrones series itself felt like the most logical and compelling destination for Thrones' next TV endeavour.
Now sure, the fact fans had already witnessed a ton of the key events of Robert's Rebellion and the lead-up to it over the course of GOT's eight-season run may take away some of the intrigue the potential show could've offered had said glimpses of The Mad King's dethroning and Rhaegar and Lyanna's eventual wedding not been already realised in the series.
But there would still no doubt be hours of gripping action and pulsating tension to be found in the earlier part of that aforementioned forbidden romance, the prior years of Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark's friendship, and the tragic events that would lead to Ned's father and brother being executed by The Mad King.
Should House of the Dragon continue to deliver the goods, however, there's every chance HBO will one day give this Rebellion its share of the spin-off spotlight.
