9/11 has been fertile territory for conspiracy theorists ever since tragedy struck America in 2001. Of course, where there's politics, there's theorists, so it's only natural that all manner of wild theories would follow, but roping animated sitcom The Simpsons' into the mix remains somewhat surprising.

In the first episode of The Simpsons' ninth season titled The City Of New York Vs. Homer Simpson (which aired on September 21st 1997), there are a ton of references to the World Trade Center, including one specific scene in which Lisa holds up a magazine cover that features the number 9 right beside the Twin Towers, forming what appears to be 9/11.

As well as that, The Simpsons has been credited with predicting a bunch of other stuff, too, including the Ebola outbreak (an episode in 1997 sees Marge brandish a book titled €œCurious George and the Ebola Virus€) and the UK's horse meat scandal (a 1994 episode sees horse parts used by an elementary school dinner lady).

These things are more than likely a €œmonkey writing for an infinite amount of time must produce the complete works of Shakespeare€ type scenario, but you never know.
