3. Heil Honey, I'm Home!
The 90s were a strange time. Everyone had weird hair and it was possible to make a pilot about Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun living next door to a Jewish couple. Hitler and Braun's neighbours were Arny and Rosa Goldenstein (of course) and in the first episode Hitler gets Rosa drunk so she doesn't interrupt his meeting with the British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. I suppose the show's saving grace is that it was supposed to be a spoof of the whole concept of making sitcoms based on anything. That being said, there are probably better ways to go about it than choosing a premise that's extremely historically and culturally insensitive. Of course, controversy was inevitable (the show has been described as perhaps the world's most tasteless situation comedy) and Heil Honey never made it past its initial pilot.
