8 Craziest TV Fan Theories (That Actually Make Total Sense)

2. The Doctor Isn€™'t The Only Time Lord On Screen

This one€™'s much more of an umbrella theory, covering a multitude of characters. Television'€™s longest running sci-fi series stars an alien from the planet Gallifrey: an eccentric individual with a propensity for getting into trouble, an individual style of dress, and the capacity to regenerate when mortally wounded into an entirely different person, with a new face and body and new mannerisms.

Tragically the rest of his race perished in a terrible cosmic war, leaving him one of the last of his kind (at least, until the events of The Day Of The Doctor). But is the Doctor alone in the world?

Theories abound that Britain'€™s most famous secret agent could also be a Time Lord, citing his troubleshooting nature and the fact that he€™'s been played by several different people over several decades. Remember when George Lazenby'€™s Bond quipped, "€œThis never happened to the other guy€" in On Her Majesty€™s Secret Service? Is that a reference to a previous regeneration?

Then there'€™s Mary Poppins. A mysterious nanny who appears out of nowhere to sort out a troubled household, take the children on strange adventures€ and has a handbag that'€™s bigger on the inside than it is on the outside? It€™'s a TARDIS. Definitely.

Others have cited the changing face of fictional housewife Betty Crocker over the decades since her appearance in 1927, cited Willy Wonka'€™s odd dress sense, eccentricity and multifarious gadgetry, or looked at astonishing geniuses over the years - was Leonardo Da Vinci from Gallifrey? What about Nikola Tesla? More recently, some have suggested DC's Legends of Tomorrow's Rip Hunter could be an alt-universe Doctor, given his time-travelling ways and the fact he's played by Arthur Darvill.

There'€™s even someone with a pet theory about Keanu Reeves, but maybe that€™s taking it too far€.
