8 Craziest TV Fan Theories (That Actually Make Total Sense)

3. Jessica Fletcher Was A Serial Killer

Mild-mannered mystery novelist Jessica Fletcher, protagonist of long-running whodunit show Murder She Wrote, had a habit of stumbling into real life murder mysteries,€“ mysteries she would invariably solve for the police before genially wandering off to crochet, or whatever. But did she?

Most television shows based around unsolved murders involve a police detective. If they'€™re not police officers themselves, then they'€™re affiliated with them. €“ Quincy works for the LA County Coroner€™s Office, for example, and Perry Mason is a high profile lawyer specialising in defending people wrongly accused of murder. Richard Castle might also be a writer, but his partner is a brilliant homicide detective.

Jessica Fletcher is just always mysteriously in the right place at the right time. Now, Occam€™s Razor posits that, given multiple theories, the simplest one is most likely to be true. Here, the simplest theory is simply that Jessica Fletcher is America'€™s most devious serial killer, with a gift for selecting her victims and framing another person in their lives.

We'€™re never told how it is that Fletcher comes to lose her husband, or how it is that she came to the USA from England. What was she running from, and what happened to Frank? Perhaps this could explain how sleepy little Cabot Cove has the highest murder rate in the world€
