8 Creepiest Twin Peaks Moments
6. Josie In The Drawer
Whilst the two previous scenes in this list focus on terrifying the viewer, It's hard to pinpoint the emotion that Lynch was aiming for when he filmed Josie's death at the end of Season 2.
After running (with a gun in her hand) from every awful situation in her life, Josie's string of betrayal is finally cut by Cooper and Truman, who catch her in the Great Northern with a dead man in her bed.
After an emotionally resonant performance from Truman, as he wrestles with his love for this problematic woman, he begs her to give up the gun and return to his arms. As if like magic, Josie seemingly suffers a stress-induced heart attack, and things only get worse from there.
As BOB climbs up the side of the bed, we realize that Josie has been brought into the miasma of The Black Lodge, with The Man From Another Place's almost humorous dancing only confirming such matters.
The camera then pans to an innocuous looking doorknob, which is thought to now possess Josie's soul(?). Before you can stifle a laugh at this absurd predicament CGI distorts the handle, and a specifically 90's effect pushes a 3D face out of the wood.
What the f**k? you cry - and, in typical Twin Peaks fashion, it is never explained.
