8 Creepiest Twin Peaks Moments
5. Creamed Corn
As Twin Peaks was just settling into a number of strikingly normal sub plots, Donna Hayward decides that it's a great idea to take up Laura Palmer's old route for the Meals on Wheels program.
Whilst making a number of investigative house calls in her role as self-appointed amateur detective, she comes across a seemingly normal bed-bound grandmother, looking pretty sorry for herself. The food is delivered, and there's a dispute over the contents. She didn't want the creamed corn.
Again, as this seems to be a Lynchian trope, something completely innocuous turns into a creepy ordeal.
What Donna doesn't realize is that there's a creepy little boy in the room, watching his guardian, looking like a young David Lynch in a tuxedo. The little man makes it clear that they want none of this creamed corn business, as the yellow goop transports itself from the plate to his hands, again, for no surface reason whatsoever.
What makes this scene so surreal is the seemingly normal context and the fact that you as the viewer probably felt safe about this sub plot. Yet, as we've learned, in the world of Twin Peaks, nothing is sacred.
