8 David Tennant Shows That Are Just As Good As Doctor Who
4. Staged
Comedy drama Staged was released on BBC 1 in early June of this year, starring Sheen and Tennant alongside each other yet again. The pair play themselves, and the series is filmed purely within the screens of video conferences as they rehearse a West End play that has been put on hold due to the current circumstances.
The series is an easy watch, with the episodes running for 15 minutes each with 6 in total, as both actors struggle to work with their director to finish the play before the theatres open again. The show is extremely humorous and includes cameos from a range of stars including Judi Dench, Samuel Jackson and both of the actors' own wives - all of whom portray themselves in order to get through the entirety of the theatre script in time, whilst all still discussing their own takes on their everyday lives in lockdown.
Anyone looking for an easy watch who enjoys the two actors together will definitely get through this series very quickly. It includes a variety of scripted and improvised moments and is written and directed by Simon Evans, who also stars as their own director within the show.
