8 David Tennant Shows That Are Just As Good As Doctor Who

5. There She Goes

There She Goes is a comedy drama shown on BBC 2, following a family who care for their severely learning disabled daughter. Tennant and Jessica Hynes star alongside each other as mother and father to youngest child Rosie. The show was written by Shaun Pye, who created the series to show his own experiences of living with his daughter, who was born with a chromosomal disorder.

Although comedic at times, the series shines a light on a true-to-life family going through the highs and lows of a child that is different from the rest. It does not shy away from the emotional rollercoaster the parents are put through to care for their own daughter, with the cast performing a realistic and un-exaggerated interpretation of Pye's writing. Tennant plays a father who suffers from the everyday whirlwinds of life, whilst also simultaneously being a full time co-carer with his wife.

The second series was released last month and was praised again for not sugar coating the true stories of families who have children of their own like Rosie.
