What it was: It's no secret that Community has had somewhat of a troubled past. From cancellation scares to showrunner change-ups, it's a miracle that a show with such a tumultuous life has managed to stay on the air thus far. Over the years, Community has garnered one of the largest and most vocal fan bases in the world of current television comedy, but even the fans knew early on that their show was in serious jeopardy. The "six seasons and a movie" mantra may have started out as a fun reference to a seemingly insignificant line, but the shows unexpected 2011 hiatus caused the phrase to become a proverbial banner under which cast members and fans could unite. Since then, the slogan has made its mark in the television community - no pun intended - as has its subsequent campaign. Fan presence aside, the comedy of Community is quick and subtle, and its characters are endearing once you get to know them. Where it went wrong: Though the comedy isn't gone for good, it's still a mystery as to why NBC decided to drop the show in the first place; over its 5 season run with the network, Community's ratings appeared to be steadily progressing. But apparently the numbers weren't enough to satisfy NBC, and the show was left by the wayside, later to be picked up by Yahoo! Screen. This definitely isn't the worst thing that could have happened to Community, as the internet is a broader and more accessible platform, and hopefully the mantra of Six Seasons and a Movie will become something of a self-fulfilling prophecy for the quirky comedy. A number of shows with untapped potential were sacrificed this season. What show are you going to miss the most? Let us know by posting in the comments, we'd love to hear from you!
