8 Greatest TV Battles That Ever Hit The Screen

7. Banshee – A Fixer Of Sorts

Banshee is an American television series that began airing at the beginning of 2013. The show is basically about a mysterious ex-con who assumes the identity of Lucas Hood, the town's murdered sheriff, in an effort to hide from a powerful crime lord.

Though there's plenty of action throughout the series, what with the crime lord and the whole ex-con stealing a dead man's identity thing, nowhere is it better shot or more intense than at the close of the season three episode A Fixer Of Sorts, which sees a bloody clash between Nola Longshadow and Clay Burton.

Put simply, it's one of the most brutal, cinematic battles in TV history. Beginning with Clay literally being pierced by a spinning axe chucked by Nola, it only escalates from there, as both are slashed and stabbed repeatedly with bloody consequence. At one point there's a brief pause so Clay can remove a piece of glass embedded in his face, than the action resumes. The camera work is also fantastic, sweeping, spinning and cutting like a third dexterous fighter.
