Cassie Ainsworth was one of the most sympathetic characters in the first generation of Skins.

Ignored by her artsy parents and plagued by an eating disorder, Cassie struggles to cope with the pressures of being young.

It all works out ok in the end though, as she escapes her native Bristol for a new life in New York, accompanied by boyfriend, Sid.

Cassie was played by actual Bristolian, Hannah Murray, in her first major acting role. Murray impressed as Cassie, scooping a BAFTA in 2009. This undoubtedly helped her acquire her next big role - Gilly in Game Of Thrones.

A daughter of the monstrous Craster, Gilly escapes her life of slavery with the help of Samwell Tarly, whom she becomes romantically involved with. Gilly plays a huge part in one of the show's biggest plot points, as she is the one who discovers that Jon Snow is actually the son of Rhaegar Targaryen.

Murray would appear in almost every season of Game of Thrones and was a firm fan favourite. Outside of Westeros, she was also acclaimed for her role in the Danish film, Bridgend, for which she won the Best Actress award at the Tribeca Film Festival.
