The most obvious thought when watching the awesome intro to animated show Rick And Morty is that it comprises a bunch of action shots most of which viewers will never see again. According to the show's co-creator Justin Roiland, however, that's not exactly the case.

During a Rick And Morty panel, a fan asked the writer/animator/voice actor whether or not there was any significance to these scenes, like when Morty's face falls off revealing a robotic interior, when Jerry is giving birth surrounded by his family or when the gang are chased by a huge Cthulu-looking monster.

Roiland stated that each of these scenes is from a planned, upcoming episode, and that each scene will eventually fit into the wider context of the show.
