American Horror Story: Coven is the third season of the show, and centres on a Coven of witches descended from Salem. The show is known for having a different, creepy intro each season, but the intro for Coven goes so much further, actually giving away the season's key mystery.

Throughout Coven's narrative one of the main questions that's asked is which character will become the new Supreme witch, following in Jessica Lange's footsteps. From the beginning of episode one, however, this question is answered: the image of the folk saint called “Santa Muerte” appears beside Sarah Paulson's name credit.

How else is Santa Muerte known? As the “Lady of the Seven Powers”, which in the show represents the Supreme. So it turns out from the moment the season began fans had the information need to solve its central enigma.
