8 Incredible Things Tom Baker Has Done Since Doctor Who

4. Writing Two Highly Eccentric But Amusing Books

Keen to outdo mere mortals, Tom Baker is also a successful writer. His 1997 autobiography Who on Earth is Tom Baker? contained many laugh-out-loud moments including the revelation that he bought and engraved his own tombstone - just to be prepared. Thankfully, he hasn't needed to use it yet. Tom followed up this volume of semi-autobiographical tall tales with the fictional The Boy Who Kicked Pigs in 1999. It begins like this:
One day, it was in the summer, Robert was alone in the front room watching Postman Pat again and suddenly he was struck with the desire to kick a pig.
Only Tom Baker could start a book like that.
