8 Reasons Batman Belongs On Television
5. His Allies
Gotham can keep it's handsome and youthful version of Detective Jim Gordon. Give us an old, grizzled, white-mustachioed Commissioner James Gordon.
Batman's roster of allies runs almost as deep as his villains. But while it'd be cool to see a fully-realized Batman in the prime of his vigilante career, a TV show could take characters like Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Barbara Gordon and allow them to develop into their various heroic alter egos over the course of several seasons.
Another quality that makes these allies great supporting characters is the operative word "allies," as opposed to "friends and family." So much of the drama in today's superhero shows revolves around the hero attempting to maintain close personal relationships to hold on to some semblance of a normal life. For Bruce Wayne, a normal life went out the door years ago, and his relationship dynamics should reflect that.
