5. It's Just Not Seinfeld
Sure it might be Seinfeld and David at the helm, and sure it might feature the characters of Newman and George, but it just wasn't Seinfeld. Maybe the problem was merging it with CCC that made it seem surreal, but the thing is that it wasn't just that. It wasn't funny. There's no other way to describe it. There was some seeds of observational humour, sure, such as "The Over-Cheer" and the availing oneself in the master bathroom when you're a guest at a popular couple's household, but it never really paid off. They just mentioned that George did it. Not even the mumbling bit worked. Maybe the problem is that they're both out of touch. After all, it seems rather evident that they are when you watch this short. It seems surprising to hear "Hello...Newman" acted out so poorly by Seinfeld. Did he hiccup halfway through the line? Did he not want to do another take? You're not Calculon, Mr. Seinfeld, it's okay if you have another go.
