1. It's Following The Comic Book More Closely Than Ever Before
Over the course of The Walking Dead the screenwriters have had an up and down relationship with the comic book source material, sometimes sticking very closely to Robert Kirkman's original material, at other times making changes or deviations. While these changes certainly help keep the comic's fans on their toes, sometimes they've been changes for the worse and diminished the show's potential impact. Season 5 promises to stick much closer to the comic than ever before - and given the high standard of Kirkman's writing this can only be a good thing. You don't have to take our word for it that this will be the case since Kirkman himself has said as much. In an interview with IGN he said, "Season 5 is, more than any other season, following the comics very closely. Theres more comic book moments being adapted than there have been in any previous season, so theres a lot of cool stuff for the comic fans coming up and a lot of stuff they will recognize, but of course well be doing some stuff in different ways. . . There are a lot of cool key moments that come directly from the comics." Here's to looking forward to even more of these great, cool key moments as season 5 moves ahead over the coming weeks.
