8 Reasons You Need To Watch Marvel's Cloak & Dagger
6. It Could Have A Crossover With Runaways
This isn't on the cards yet, but every Marvel fan loves crossovers so you wouldn't want to miss this. The showrunners of both Cloak & Dagger and Hulu's Runaways are hoping for a union between the two MCU shows. Joe Pokaski has said that he hopes legal issues don't stop it from happening:
I’m a big fan of what [showrunners] Josh [Schwartz] and Stephanie [Savage] did on Runaways and we’re always talking about 'when do we get to do our crossover?' There’s probably 400 lawyers in the way… I’m excited for however Cloak & Dagger can play in the universe."
You're probably thinking that this isn't a big deal as, like I said, Marvel's shows usually keep to themselves so this probably won't happen. The comics universe gives this potential crossover a big boost, though, as Tandy and Tyrone have encountered the Runaways kids on the page.
What's more, the two teen-orientated TV series share a similar approach to the Marvel world as they both focus on outcast kids who are struggling to adjust to their powers. Runaways season 1 even ended up with the gang on the run so it wouldn't be too hard to get them to visit Louisiana.
The shows most likely share an audience as well so it would be in Disney's best interests to get some synergy going across their different platforms.
