Darkforce isn't the only key element of Cloak & Dagger that has made the jump from the rest of the MCU. Though their intentions have yet to be revealed, it's clear that the Roxxon Corporation is behind the Darkforce explosion and the traumas that shaped both Tandy and Tyrone in their youth.

Roxxon should be a familiar name if you've been paying attention. The corrupt corporation was first namechecked in the franchise back in its opening act, Iron Man. Since then, the organisation has turned up in the likes of Agents of SHIELD, Daredevil and Agent Carter. Roxxon has rarely been the star of the show but we've learned that it has ties to the likes of Aldrich Killian and the Hand.

Clearly, then, Roxxon's full of bad-uns and in Cloak & Dagger we begin to see exactly the sort of thing they get up to. Kudos to showrunner Joe Pokaski for picking up on what's arguably the MCU's longest-running easter egg and turning it into a massive plot point for his series.

He has explained that he was compelled to feature Roxxon in Cloak & Dagger because he wanted to explore the amorality of big corporations. "Our philosophy on our show is corporations aren't necessarily evil, they are just amoral," Pokaski said. "If they can make the same amount of money saving your lives, they would, they just generally don't."
