2. Alan Hansen - £1 Million A Year - Match Of The Day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Es-RIBnba8 Alan Hansen may be on a million less than Linker, but he is a far worst rip off for our money. A relic of Liverpool's success in the 80s, the majority of football fans under 25 won't even remember Hansen's playing days. His relevancy in the modern day era of football is pitiful - the Shearers, Redknapps and Nevilles of the world are the real talent when it comes to football analysis. Most football fans are pretty vocal about their disdain for Hansen's bemusing job for life at the BBC.
The Express details one typical viewer stating: "The Alan Hansen quote just reinforces the shared view of the over-paid, over-comfortable, under-researched and downright lazy BBC Sport team." This came after Hansen said 3 teams from the same Euro group would make it to semis - which is obviously impossible. Hansen is a prime example of deadwood. He is safe and comfortable in his job, earning one of the best BBC presenter wages going despite the relative little impact of his pundit role. Personally, I don't oppose his 22 year MOTD run continuing, but these guys should be earning more in the realm of £250k in my view. That seems fair. Hansen haters should rejoice however, the pundit claims he will retire following the 2014 World Cup.
