8. Coldplay Would Appear On A Sitcom To Promote A Single...

The Prediction: Chris Martin - revealed to be a shameless self-promoter - appears in Season 2, Episode 4 to basically insist that he is invited onto When The Whistle Blows as himself - despite it being unlikely that a rock star would simply turn up within that world - and performs "Fix You." Meanwhile, he also attempts to plug Coldplay's Greatest Hits, and Andy is accused of selling out to allow Martin to peddle his musical wares on TV.

The Real Life Event: On January 31st 2010, more than 3 years after the Extras episode screened, Martin made a guest appearance on The Simpsons, as Coldplay played a live performance of Viva La Vida, which Bart interrupts by going to the bathroom.
