2. People Working Together
In past incarnations of Star Trek, everyone was a Starfleet officer; everyone knew Starfleet protocol on every matter and everyone respected the chain of command for the most part. There was no grit. This incarnation of Star Trek however, managed to showcase people working together who had nothing in common, had their own agendas and didnt necessarily have Starfleet protocol to end all debate and bickering. Yet, they managed to work together. Garak and his shifting alliances but his loyalty to the Cardassians, Kira, who has a loyalty to Bajor, Worf who has a increasing loyalty to the Klingon Empire, Quark whose only loyalty is to money and Odo whose only allegiance was to justice came together to ensure a smooth running station. So why cant Spock and Kirk agree on the rules that they have pledged to uphold?
