8 Star Wars Projects We Can't Wait To See In 2023
7. Ubisoft's Untitled Star Wars Game
Although there is no confirmation that the game will be releasing this year, it certainly seems possible that we are soon going to get our first look at Ubisoft's new Star Wars game.
Headed by Massive Entertainment, the project - codenamed Snowdrop - was initially announced in 2021, marking the end of EA's exclusive rights to the franchise. Massive will be collaborating with Lucasfilm Games on Snowdrop, which was revealed to be an open world, story-driven game.
At the beginning of the year, Julian Gerighty, Ubisoft's Creative Director, thrilled fans when he said, "Happy New Year to you all. 2023 is going to be huge for us. Join the adventure", and attached a picture of the Star Wars logo.
Soon, fans started speculating that the game could release this year, only for these hopes to be dashed by Gerighty when he later said, "This seems to have sparked quite some interest! To be clear, I meant that 2023 will be huge for our teams building our game (which you could be a part of!)."
So, whilst it doesn't look like Snowdrop will be releasing this year, it certainly seems that Ubisoft and Massive are going full steam ahead with the game. Perhaps we will be able to get our first glimpse at Snowdrop this year, even if the game is still a few years away.
