There's a reason this season received a record breaking 11 Emmy nominations for acting, including Kit Harington (Jon Snow) for best actor, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) for best actress, Alfie Allen (Theon), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime), and Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) for supporting actor, Gwendoline Christie (Brienne), Lena Headey (Cersei), Sophie Turner (Sansa), and Maisie Williams (Arya) for supporting actress, and Carice Van Houten (Melisandre) for guest actress. Each of those actors gives a spectacular performance, even when the writing came off as subpar, and more than deserved their nominations. It's a crime that only Dinklage took home a statue.

These eleven actors weren't the only standout performances in the final season. Longtime supporting players such as Iain Glen (Jorah), Rory McCann (Sandor), John Bradley (Sam), Liam Cunningham (Davos), Conleth Hill (Varys), and Bella Ramsey (Lyanna Mormont) give their characters great sendoffs. The final season allows for nearly every character to have at least one great "moment," where the actor gets to eat up a scene one final time.

Though not every character's ending worked, every actor rose to the occasion.
