7. First Date
So you've finally plucked up the courage to ask your crush out - or visa versa - so the first thing to cross off your agenda is that dreaded first date. It's awkward but everyone has to do it. It's probably worth pointing out that what constitutes a 'first date' is very different in the eyes of a Doctor Who fan than it is to the rest of the world. For a Whovian, there's nothing more romantic than curling up on the sofa and indulging in an episode of the Time Lord's ongoing adventures (or five) and they'll probably end up getting so invested that they'll forget you're even there. Don't be surprised, therefore, if you end up cutting the evening short and making an impromptu exit without so much as a goodbye when the TV manages to sustain the attention of your date far more successfully than any previous conversation you had failed to bring to the table. Unless that conversation was about Doctor Who, of course, in which case you'd be a match made in heaven. A Doctor Who fan might opt to take you to a convention for your first date, too. They'd be in their element but it's not everybody's cup of tea.
