6. It Takes Place After The Events Of Jessica Jones

Marvel and Netflix's original plan was to release one season of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist before launching The Defenders. Well, the success of The Man Without Fear clearly caught them off guard (it's rumoured that it was their most watched original series ever), hence why the plan has changed. Of course, that complicates things chronologically, but perhaps not quite so much as some thought it might. It's established early on that this second season of Daredevil takes place after the events of Jessica Jones. I won't spoil how, but let's just say it's handled in a very direct manner that should make fans happy. However, what still isn't clear is where these show fit into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the first seven episodes, there's no mention of the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron or the upcoming Civil War.
