The fifth instalment to the AHS anthology series, Hotel is an interesting season to say the least and has many fans split between finding it painfully boring or devilishly good. Regardless of fans divided views of the season as a whole, one thing that can be agreed upon is the disturbing and grotesque scene of the so-called 'addiction demon' who rapes an addict to death with a metal spike in place of a phallic object.

As bad as it sounds, this scene takes the top spot for being the best at making its audience as uncomfortable as humanly possible. Despite not knowing much in terms of a backstory of the addict himself, it simply does not take a super-empath to identify that the scene is harrowingly terrifying. Even down to Sarah Paulson's character coming in mid-assault and speaking to the man as he is being raped, there are so many elements of the sequence that all add up to create a truly horrible piece of television.

From the quick-cut editing to create a feeling of urgency, all the way to the sound design of the sequence that includes screams, squelches and all sorts of other horrible noises, it certainly earns its place at the top of this list for assaulting the senses of the audience indiscriminately.
