Joffrey was an evil little tyke, and he did some terrible, terrible things in his time - many of which the show depicted in gory detail. But one of the worst and most disturbing scenes to have ever occurred in Game of Thrones saw Joffrey torturing Ros and Daisy, a couple of well-meaning prostitutes sent to appease him on his birthday - and take his virginity. Joffrey, of course, was never interested in sex; instead, he forced Ros to whip Daisy into submission, before forcing the former (using a pointed crossbow) to the beat the latter unconscious with a large metallic object. Then she was dumped in Tyrion's room. For some reason, this scene left a particularly sour taste in the mouth. Not only did it feel insulting to the female characters on the show, but it felt wrong to watch a child doing such a cruel thing to two grown women. It wasn't featured in the books, either, and - technically - it didn't add anything to Joffrey's character that viewers didn't already know. It's not really all that surprising that this scene irked so many people when it aired.
