8 TV Characters That Turned Their Weakness Into A Superpower

These characters made lemonade from the lemons of life.

Daredevil Season 3
Netflix

The Walking Dead's not quite finale was full of heartwarming moments, but the most heartwarming of all was the scene between Kelly and Carol in which Kelly recalls a time where her missing sister, Connie, informed her that her hearing loss was not a weakness, but a superpower. This is true, as the group's new knowledge of sign-language, learned from Kelly and Connie, allows them to silently communicate with each other, giving them an edge over the evil Whisperers.

Connie and Kelly are far from the only characters to turn their weaknesses into a superpower. Television is full of characters who have made the best out of unfortunate circumstances.

8. Bran Stark (Game Of Thrones)

Bran Game Of Thrones
HBO

Bran Stark's dream of becoming a Knight of The Seven Kingdoms is destroyed when he is pushed from a tower window, but the 'accident' that crippled him is just the beginning of an important journey.

The accident awakens Bran's ability as a 'greenseer', experiencing meaningful or prophetic dreams. He can also 'warg' to control the minds of animals, or his simple-minded servant, Hodor.

In later seasons, Bran's abilities lead him to become the Three-Eyed Raven, a mystical encyclopaedia of Westeros's memories, and ultimately, the King of The Seven Kingdoms. Beginning as a crippled boy, Bran ends the series as the most powerful man in Westeros, the ultimate victor in the great Game Of Thrones.
