8 TV Finales That Left Major Unanswered Questions

4. Angel

20th Century Fox Television20th Century Fox TelevisionEpisode: Not Fade Away (2004) While the finales looked at so far leave character back stories uncompleted or end on ambiguous notes that make us doubt if what we had just watched genuinely happened, they all actually wrap off their stories of their final episodes quite well. This next entry on our list, however, ends on a blatant cliffhanger. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off series, Angel, had the unusual honour of outliving its parent programme and so Angel's last episode, that came at the end of the series' fifth season, had the task of rounding up the entire Buffyverse on television. Instead, it decided not to round anything up at all. As the 'Senior Partners' of demonic law firm Wolfram and Hart want to bring hell on Earth, Angel and his team, some human, some vampires, some ancient-gods-trapped-in-the-body-of-a-former-teammate, take a last stand against evil, facing an army of demons on the streets of LA. Already injured, horribly outnumbered, and, oh, look it's even raining, Angel and friends don't run away. 'Let's go to work,' Angel says, and we see no more. However, while TV audiences never got to see if Angel Investigations survived their final fight, readers of the Angel comic book series that followed the show did. If you're interested, the demon army is defeated but the Senior Partners punish Team Angel by sending LA into hell itself. Well, you said you wanted answers..
