8 TV Heroes You Didn't Realise Probably Died Horrible Deaths

6. Ash Williams - Ash Vs Evil Dead

Ash Williams is the ultimate survivor. For decades now he's been fighting off the Deadites, and he continues to live through it all, despite often having to face seemingly insurmountable odds.

In the end, the only enemy Ash couldn't beat was ratings, with Starz cancelling Ash vs Evil Dead after three seasons, but not before some delicious setup for what was to come. After once again saving the day, Ash is knocked unconscious and wakes up long in the future, with the Dead Ones on the move again and the hero off on another quest to save the world.

Season 4 of Ash would've reportedly been some kind of Evil-Dead-meets-Mad-Max style post-apocalyptic warzone, which sounds pretty great, but it also might well have been the end for Ash. Prior to Season 3's conclusion, Bruce Campbell hinted we could see Ash die, reiterating that he is mortal, and he couldn't go on fighting forever. It's also unlikely Ash would just accept the quiet life, because something would also make him come back to the fight, so dying in this post-apocalypse in some horrific fashion while fighting against the forces of evil sounds not only probable, but quite fitting, really.

Now that Campbell has retired from playing the character, we'll never get to see his fate resolved on-screen, but we can imagine it was heroic, bloody, and, well, groovy.
