8 TV Moments That Didn't Live Up To The Hype

6. Negan's Deadly Decision - The Walking Dead

When Negan was introduced on The Walking Dead, it was probably the most hyped moment up to that point. Fans of the comic knew Negan well, and for anyone who didn't, AMC poured a ton of cash into promotion, so everyone knew a truly "big bad" was coming.

His introduction was given the additional boost, thanks to being introduced via a cliffhanger episode that closed out the sixth season. That episode ended with him standing around the group from Alexandria, promising to bash in the brains of one of the people. Months of online discussions determined it was Glenn who would die.

That's how it went down in the comics, so it was a good assumption, but it didn't exactly play out that way on the show. Negan came back in the first episode of the new season, which picked up right where it left off, and the cliffhanger was about to be resolved.

Then, without much preamble, he beat Abraham to death, and the fans were shocked. A sucker punch later, and he unceremoniously killed Glenn. The choice to have him kill two people may have been done to throw off the fans, but the way it was done pissed off a lot of viewers, many of whom rage-quit the series.
