8 TV Shows That Are Going To Get Cancelled In 2016
5. Agent Carter
Proof that slapping a Marvel logo on something isn’t solely enough to get people watching, Agent Carter focuses on the character Peggy Carter, who casual superhero fans might remember as Steve Rogers' love interest in Captain America: The First Avenger. She's left behind when he's frozen for almost seventy years, and appears in subsequent films as an elderly lady.
Hayley Atwell plays Carter, attempting to balance the double life of being a secret agent and a single woman in 1940s America. Despite a relatively positive response and a more interesting premise than the vast majority of TV superhero efforts, ratings have continued to plummet, especially between season one and season two.
Unfortunately for fans of the show, it's incredibly unlikely there will be a season three. Even though season one didn't fair particularly well, the show was given a second chance to grow in viewership, but it continued to decline nevertheless. Disney might be known for taking risks when it comes to Marvel on-screen adaptations, but when they've proven to be commercial failures, don't expect prolonged financial investment.
