8 TV Shows That Totally Abandoned Their Premise

4. New Girl

This is not simply about the fact that, after a few seasons, Zooey Deschanel€™s Jess is no longer a new girl. She€™s been around for quite some time, in fact, and has even dated another one of the main characters and so on and so forth. However, this would not have happened early on when the show was operating under its original guise. At first, Jess was, if you put it the way FOX€™s marketing team did, adorkable, but really she was quite odd and weird and disconcerting. The character was not merely a quirky but lovable gal. The first few episodes were about the guys dealing with this strange woman suddenly in their lives, but coming to her defense anyway. Then, New Girl decided to soften the Jess character, and make her more relatable and less potentially unsettling. Oh, and one of the three male roommates was replaced, but then he came back because apparently the show felt there weren€™t enough characters to try and juggle. It hasn€™t worked out great.

Chris Morgan hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
