8 TV Villains Who Redeemed Themselves

5. Hugh Collinson – Strike Back

Game Of Thrones Jaime Lannister Redemption
Sky 1

Strike Back is a show that didn’t really take off until season two, which is a surprise since they killed the main character in the first ten minutes. Poor hunky Richard Armitage had to leave to film The Hobbit, so his character John Porter took a bullet to the brain. Oddly enough, the show became more of a hit without him.

Rewinding back to the first season we found Porter globe-hopping to fight terrorists while trying to uncover if his boss – played by pre-Walking Dead Andrew Lincoln – was responsible for the deaths of his old team. It turns out he was, having accidentally gunned them down, and doing whatever it takes to escape justice for his mistake.

The two men have a battle to the death over this, only to get pinned by enemy fire. Collinson creates a division for Porter to escape, only to get killed in the process. That was nice of him, even if Porter’s escape was short-lived.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
