Perhaps one of the bigger celebrity stars to feature on the show, Susan Sarandon joined Ricky and Morty as Dr Wong, the family therapist. It’s not the most glamorous of roles, but her character will forever be known as the only person to have ever outsmarted the might of Rick.

In recent years, Sarandon normally assumes the plain Jane motherly role in movies such as Tammy or her latest venture, Ride the Eagle. But Susan’s career started off in the world of weird and whacky sci-fi with the well-known film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. So, when Sarandon was offered a role on the show, she was more than happy to return. Lucky for her, the request for some whacky sci-fi was taken on board.

Dr Wong was featured on one of the most well-known episodes of Rick and Morty, in which the iconic Pickle Rick makes his debut appearance. It doesn’t get any better than that for a guest cameo. Sarandon goes on to feature a few more times in the series, and every time she delivers a brilliant performance. Somehow her voice is so well-suited to the calm and slightly condescending therapist.
