Rick and Morty has seen its fair share of star cameos since it first debuted in 2013. The hit animation series recently released its fifth season in 2021 and is rumoured to be releasing a sixth in the next couple of months.

While the series is mainly known for its whacky scientifical sub-tangents and vulgar use of the English language, there is the odd surprise celebrity cameo that appears and enhances the experience even more. With stars such as Elon Musk, Taika Waititi and Gillian Jacobs taking a shot at the sci-fi comedy side of things, we can't wait for what the next season may have in store for us on the cameo front.

With almost every guest appearance, there comes a price for the creators of the show. Whether it's a weird request for the cosmetics of the character or the demand for the absence of nudity, these celebs really pushed the boat out when it came to their contractual agreements and the final outcome that we got to see.

Take a look at why Elon got his tusks and how Doc Ock continued his evil streak.

8. David Cross Was Uncomfortable With Nudity

Episode four of the first season, M. Night Shaym-Aliens!, saw Arrested Development actor David Cross featuring in a cameo role. In the episode, he plays one of Rick’s self-proclaimed enemies, Prince Nebulon, and leads a race of aliens with a very particular phobia that some fans of the actor may recognise.

Known for playing a man uncomfortable with nudity while on Arrested Development, Cross suggested to the writers of the show that they should incorporate this little Easter egg into the show to tie some of his work together. Not only is this a genius comedic move, but it’s also nice that the show agreed to pay homage to the series that really helped the actor take off.

His role as the Prince of the Zigerions is hilarious, and the storyline of the episode is vastly improved by his hatred of nudity yet obsession with finding Rick's Concentrated Dark Matter so that he can tend to the discolouration of his butthole flaps. Yes, the episode is fairly chaotic and vulgar, but what else do you expect from the show?
