8 Ways DC Could Actually Save Titans

1. Make Sure Other Shows Learn From It

Of course, one of the major worries of Titans is that it signals the approach DC's new streaming service will have for all their future shows too. Bar Harley Quinn, which is being billed as an adult comedy cartoon, the likes of Swamp Thing, Doom Patrol and Stargirl could all fall victim to the same kind of overly-serious direction Titans has opted for.

If DC can't change the direction of the series, though, then they should at least use it as a lesson for their future shows. Swamp Thing is dark in its own way obviously, but there's a right (read, gothic) way to go about it, and both Doom Patrol and Stargirl would have no business in replicating the look and feel of Titans even if that currently is the plan DC are working with for now.

Comic book publishers have experienced some difficulty in adapting their properties to the small screen (Marvel perhaps less so, but their series aren't without their criticism either), and a lot of that is down to the fact they've struggled to find a true identity. Gotham doesn't know what show it wants to be one week to the next; Arrow thinks it's Batman, and the Flash is still inconsistent years after its initial premiere.

The issue with Titans, sadly, is that it has found an identity, but one that's completely inappropriate for the source material. Ensure its successors learn from its mistake, and there could be hope for DC's future programming yet.
