Throughout Series 8 a good number of Whovians truly believed that the mysterious Missy would turn out to be the Rani, the renegade Time Lady obsessed with her evil and immoral experiments, and as such after the big reveal they were left somewhat disappointed and disheartened. The Master? Again? How many times has that been done before? If anything, though, it opened up an interesting discussion. Which previous Doctor Who characters, both Classic and Nu, would be really interesting to watch alongside Peter Capaldis Doctor? Who would work well? And which characters definitely don't need more screen time? Looking to chemistry and personality types, some characters would completely and utterly clash and others would probably be a bit too similar to Twelve for his liking. Some, meanwhile, would do nothing less than turn the show into the new hottest comedy in town, which isn't really what it's aiming for. Suffice to say, there are so many to choose from.
