So, K-9. An extremely intelligent know-it-all tin dog. A character that Whovians either love or love to hate. Or, you know, just hate. Would the Twelfth Doctor be cool with taking orders from a robot dog? Probably not, but it has to happen for the comedic value alone. It doesn't take much to bring out the grumpy old man in Capaldi's Doctor and an overly intelligent robot dog would do just that. They'd certainly have a very different relationship than K-9 and Tom Baker did back in the day. There are licensing complications with bringing K-9 back, of course, but he did make one appearance in NuWho alongside David Tennant in School Reunion. Remember that? Despite his lack of appearances he's still an extremely iconic and popular Doctor Who character - just go into your local toy store's Who section and you're bound to find something relating to him, and that's despite the fact he hasn't had a major part on screen since the 1970's. He'd be a hit with the children and Classic Series fans alike.
