Rather unsurprisingly, this has taken the top spot on the list because what could be better than giving somebody the gift of Doctor Who itself? This year's series was both loved and loathed in equal measure by the show's legion of fans which means Doctor Who is still at the top of its game (because let's be honest, it isn't doing it's job properly if it isn't annoying as many people as it's entertaining!). Now Peter Capaldi's debut adventures can be enjoyed in all their glory, and from start to finish, over and over and over again. It truly is what dreams are made of. The boxset, which is available now on DVD and Blu-ray, compiles the Twelfth Doctor's first twelve episodes from the feature-length premiere Deep Breath to the series' climactic finale Death in Heaven and, in case that wasn't enough to brighten up your Christmas in itself, it also comes with a host of special features including exclusive cast interviews, audio commentaries and behind the scenes featurettes. Blimey, they really do spoil us don't they? The contents of this DVD might be bigger on the inside but it's the perfect size to fit in the stocking as a reminder of what has been another remarkable year for Doctor Who. It'd be like Christmas had come early if, you know, it wasn't actually Christmas...
