3. Books, Books And More Books
There's nothing better than curling up on the sofa with a cup of tea - preferably in that aforementioned TARDIS mug - whilst wearing your new pair of Doctor Who socks and indulging yourself in a good book and this is another area in which the Doctor can assist you this Christmas. His timey-wimey forays now stretch far beyond the realms of Saturday night television because there's an ongoing range of novelised adventures featuring an abundance of original escapades for each Doctor, so you're definitely bound to find something that takes your fancy amidst the plethora of never ending stories (meaning the quantity of the books is never ending, not the stories themselves, although some of them aren't as good as others - they're like the TV series in that way). If fiction isn't really your thing, though, there's plenty of Doctor Who reference books to choose from too, whether it's monster guides or companion chronicles or in-depth encyclopaedias documenting every aspect of the show's mythology to date. That's one way to pass the time until this year's Christmas Special, anyway. There's always something new to learn about Doctor Who and the most tantalising trivia usually lies within the pages of one of its reference books which are the perfect tools to arm yourself with a knowledge of the Doctor's adventures that is as far reaching as the series itself. Books are the best weapons in the world, after all.
