8. There Is A Fissure In The Friend Group
This trailer sets up the season as a Coming of Age Story for our gang. Throughout the trailer it is clear that there is tension between the boys, revealing their first woes of puberty. Our lovable band of nerds have always argued, but this time feels different. Now that Mike and Lucas have girlfriends, are Dustin and Will feeling left behind?
It's pretty clear that at least Dustin is.
Keep in mind that last season Max was introduced as Dustin's crush, only to have her end up as Lucas' girlfriend. Historically, these types of things are what have split up friend groups, which is why it won't be all that surprising if by the end of the season, they aren't a friend group anymore. At least until the next season, when another Demogorgan rolls into town.
That being said, it was nice to see Eleven and Max becoming closer in this trailer. Eleven deserves female friends of her own age.
