2. Most Of The Dialogue Makes No Sense
Hold the front page. The Doctor is... an alien. Yes, it's true, if you hadn't already sussed that out after 50 years of him being on our tellies. The writers seemingly keep forgetting this rather fundamental fact of the show's format, though, so keep trying to hone it into our brains by making him say some of the most ridiculous things in the history of the universe. There's no need, really, because it's not us who keeps forgetting. And it's not even when he's splurging out all of his sciency-wciency nonsense, either. Actually, all of that jargon makes much more sense than his embarrassing attempts to maintain a 'human' conversation. It's seemingly supposed to affirm that he just doesn't get humans but at all, despite the fact he's always with at least one. Besides, he's over 2,000 years old, is he not? He's always the cleverest man in whatever room he's in, is he not? Yet, with centuries of time travel, experience and extensive knowledge to his name, he still comes out with things that make you wonder if he really is just a massive fraud after all. Why, for example, does the fact he's an alien mean that he doesn't understand the rules of common decency? He constantly put Clara Oswald down in Series 8, repeatedly making comments about her appearance, and that's funny, apparently, because he's a silly alien ("Silly old Doctor!") who doesn't know any better. Only he should know better really, shouldn't he? He's supposed to be our hero, after all, somebody for us to look up to... yet his motives and personality change so frequently that it's generally hard to keep up with what messages he's even trying to convey. Somebody should really decide what sort of man he is and stick to it, because it's just getting silly now. Which brings us onto our last point...
