2. How Will Parenthood Affect Archer And Lana's Relationship?
The final moments of Vice capped the season with several revelations which are sure to have the biggest ramifications out of everything dropped in 'Arrival/Departure'. Amid an unfortunate relapse of Archers tinnitus, Lana managed to finally reveal the truth about her newborn daughter - and it didnt look like news which Archer felt particularly ready to hear. In spite of everything that he has put her through, Lana still loves Archer, and Abijean is his child too, born from the sperm deposited by him back in Season 2. Since Archer himself was betting on the baby having a different father entirely, he is a totally unwitting parent, and as seen in his relationship with Wee Baby Seamus, hes hardly Father-of-the-Year material. As well as facing the trials of parenthood completely unprepared, Archer will also be forced to make a decision regarding his relationship with Lana. He has lusted for her ceaselessly, but is he prepared to make a long-term commitment? And if so, would it really hold together, especially given the dangerous nature of their line of work? Speaking of, will Lana make good on her oath to leave ISIS now that she has a baby to tend to? (At the very least, shes definitely due some maternity leave after giving birth to her child in a freakin war zone.) So many questions. And unfortunately for this couple, the honest answers don't look particularly optimistic. Nevertheless, theyre bound to result in plenty of dysfunctional hilarity next season, and watching Abijean grow up with her parents signature traits is sure to be a treat.
