9 Reasons Ash Vs. Evil Dead Is Better Than The Walking Dead

7. A Smaller Cast

A smaller cast equals a heck of a lot more character development, even just five episodes into the the show's first season. Except for Ash himself - don't expect the brazen stock boy to change any time soon. Pablo and Kelly however? So far so good. The smaller cast really, really makes a big difference when you compare Ash vs. Evil Dead to The Walking Dead, which has had so many characters come and go over the years that you need a scorecard to keep track. And have any of them really developed, outside of the key players like Rick, Carol, and Daryl? In the course of just three episodes, Hemky Madera's Brujo (Pablo's aforementioned witch doctor uncle) showed more character growth than someone like T-Dog did for his entire run on The Walking Dead. Kelley (Dana DeLorenzo) has really started to become a leading lady, and Pablo seems to be finding his calling. Groovy.
