9 Reasons Ash Vs. Evil Dead Is Better Than The Walking Dead

8. But It's Still Utterly Insane

Sure, Ash vs. Evil Dead is focused, but that's not to say it's a paint by numbers level of predictable. If anything, it's completely freaking insane, possibly the craziest show on television at the moment. Take, for example, The Host, the fifth episode of the series to date. Kelley, possessed by a demon known to mess with its victim's minds, tries to con Pablo into getting high with her, taking hits from the barrel of a shotgun and trying to slip a live shell into the weapon on the sly. Once Pablo, Ash, and Pablo's witch doctor uncle manage to capture Kelley and attempt an exorcism, rather than the expected Exorcist clone scene, the show goes fully nuts and has her vomit forth a live, fully grown demon that skips in and out of the visual plane, giving Ash one hell of a hard target to shoot at. And that's the part of the episode that's easy to describe. The Walking Dead? This week, it reinforced a wall. Then it fell down, and zombies happened.
