9 Reasons Sheldon Cooper Is The Worst Character On TV

1. His Storylines

Sheldon Cooper
CBS

Moving away from Sheldon's characteristics, but what has he actually achieved in nine entire seasons? He's switched his field of study, and is still struggling to work a solid relationship with Amy, 139 episodes (and rising...) after her first appearance.

Sheldon's overarching storyline is pretty average to say the least. Fans know he's going to marry Amy, they know there'll be some great drama planning the wedding, they know there'll be conflict right before the big day, but everybody knows that they're going to be together.

Where else could his character actually go? Will he win an award? Maybe, but that's nothing new. Sheldon's character is merely there, rather than particularly contributing a majorly exciting element to the story of the show.

There are times when Sheldon can be amusing, and back during simpler times, he really was a funny character to watch, but his progression (and lack of it) over the past few seasons have seen him shift from being the show's driving force, to one of its biggest liabilities.
