9 Stephen King Adaptations Coming To TV In 2020 And Beyond

5. Sleeping Beauties

The Stand
Scribner

Written with his son Owen, Sleeping Beauties is King's story of a small Appalachian town that is struck by a bizarre sickness. Women are falling into a deep sleep before being encased in a cocoon like substance. Should anyone attempt to open these cocoons the women fly into a violent rage, brutalising those that get too close.

In April 2019, AMC, known in the horror sphere for their creation of the TV adaptation of The Walking Dead, committed to shooting a pilot script written by Owen King himself. It is unlikely to hit a 2020 release date but should AMC pick it up then we will know a lot more information soon.

This is the first out and out King horror on the list, but with Owen's heavy attachment, does it really count? Either way, we may be waiting a little while for this TV horror.
